When you hear about blockchain, you probably think of two things: first, cryptocurrencies; and second, fanatics, who talk about how blockchain is going to change everything. While blockchains may distribute the physical components of core internet infrastructure, we would be naive to think that they will inevitably distribute the governance of that infrastructure.

I talked with someone who's not naive about that. We'll hear from Gresshaa Mehta, a UC Berkeley alum who works at ORCA protocol, a company trying to build blockchain (or web3)-based tools for collective ownership of tech companies.

Gresshaa is a Product Design Lead at Orca Protocol, a governance web3 startup. She is also currently pursuing a master's degree at the University of Washington Seattle in Human-Centered Design and Engineering. She is passionate about inclusion, accessibility, and diversity and contributes to organizations such as she_256, built by girls, out in tech, and more. In her free time, you can find her playing Uncharted on the PS4, eating California burritos, or playing with her neighbor's dogs.
